Whats the best treatment for Blackheads?

Finding the best treatment for blackheads and acne is a very common problem for people of all ages. It can appear on the face and body and can be embarrassing. Blackheads form from the oil that a person’s skin secretes. The oil hardens in the pores and creates blackheads.

Sebum is the medical name for the skin’s natural oil. The sebum clogs the pores, which leaves them exposed. When they are not clogged, they are closed tightly. Blackheads look black or dark because the pores become discolored after being exposed to the air for a long time. They look like small, dark dots on your skin, less than the size of a period.

When eliminating blackheads, there are a few home remedies that you can turn to. Steam should be the first thing that you try. Do not stand over a boiling pot of water; that is not the kind of steam you want. One way to steam your face is with a very hot, but not scalding, wet face cloth. Another thing you can do is take a very hot shower. The steam from both of these methods will loosen the pores around the blackheads. You can take a washcloth and successfully wipe many blackheads away after steaming them.

One common treatment is an Epsom salt and iodine treatment. These ingredients aren’t the most common, but most people will have them in their bathroom. Roughly three drops of iodine and a teaspoon of Epsom salt should be added to a quarter cup of warm water. Rub this mixture on the area of your skin with the black heads. Let it dry completely so that it is completely absorbed into the skin. Then wash your face with water and many of the blackheads will be removed.

Another great home remedy is to use egg white. This is something inexpensive and and readily available. It is also so easy, anyone can do it. Rub the egg white on the area of your skin that has blackheads. Let is soak into your skin for about five minutes. Gently wash your face with warm water and you will see some of the blackheads will be washed away.

The biggest hassle with blackheads is their persistence in coming back. The easiest way to stay on top of them is routine maintenance. Using steam daily in the shower may be the best way to incorporate blackhead treatments into your daily routine. Whatever you do, the best treatment for blackheads and keeping them at bay is persistence.
